Quick answer
Choose a town upgrade for the service it unlocks or the problem it helps solve. Inspect requirements before spending, and compare that benefit with the equipment upgrade you would otherwise make.
The official game description connects resource collection with town growth and additional NPC services. The sequence below is an editorial budgeting method; it is not a verified building order.
Decide what you need next
Write down one current obstacle. Then inspect the town options already visible in your game and look for a service relevant to it. If the benefit is unclear, read the description before collecting resources specifically for that purchase.
Do not assume that a system mentioned in an old beta announcement is available at the same stage or cost in the release game.
Compare two possible spends
| Check | Town unlock | Equipment upgrade |
|---|---|---|
| Benefit | What new option does the service provide? | What effect or stat would improve? |
| Dependency | Are there prior requirements? | Does your current build use the benefit? |
| Cost | What does the current town screen ask for? | What does the current upgrade screen ask for? |
| Confidence | Is the benefit explicitly described? | Can the candidate be tested before investing? |
The table helps make a decision; it does not claim that one type of spend always wins.
Keep a small resource plan
- Pick one visible target.
- Record its displayed requirements.
- Reserve what you need before making discretionary equipment spends.
- Recheck the target after an unlock or patch.
- Choose the next target based on what is now available.
If an option is not yet visible, do not rely on a guessed unlock level. Continue with documented requirements in your current game.
What this guide does not assume
We have not established a complete release-version building tree, resource price list or fastest town route. The July beta notes are historical context, not a substitute for those records.
For an immediate equipment decision, use gear and upgrades. For a broader progression check, return to the beginner guide.
